On August 9, 10 and 11 of 2022, the 24th annual Priddis Greens Charity Classic will be contested. This event has evolved over the years from a simple and generous plan by Mr. Bill Beattie and his friends to support the Prostate Cancer Centre of Calgary into a prestigious signature tournament for Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club. In the 20 plus years prior, this charity golf tournament has donated nearly $7 million and continues to be a leading source of funding to support prostate health for all in Calgary.

This year’s event will continue follow the two fundamental goals of the tournament:

    1. Raise money and awareness for the Prostate Cancer Centre of Calgary

The 24th annual fundraising target is to raise $300,000. We are hoping that each of you in evaluating the Priddis Greens Charity Classic will see the importance to participate and help us to reach our fund-raising goal.

    2. Provide an unbelievable experience to all participants.

Priddis Greens management, staff, members and the tournament committee pride themselves on being the premier event on the Calgary charity golf calendar. The participants can expect to participate in what is sure to be another exceptional opportunity to enjoy the two (2) remarkable 18-hole golf courses, great food, service and beverages all while basking in the natural beauty of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.

We look forward to welcoming each of you and your team to the 24th Priddis Greens Charity Classic.
We were truly fortunate to have been able to host this tournament last year given the pandemic uncertainty. However, in true Priddis Greens spirit, the 23rd annual event hosted 30 teams who enjoyed great camaraderie over two fabulous days of golf and helped exceed our goal in raising $340,000 for the Prostate Cancer Centre of Calgary. Thank you again to each of these teams for their participation and generosity! This year’s tournament will build on the successes of last year in continuing to provide an exceptional experience for all participants.

We are looking forward to a more traditional format from years prior for the 2022 Priddis Greens Charity Classic complete with a refreshed gala venue prior to the golf competition and adapting some of last year’s format changes that proved to be very successful. We are thrilled to re-introduce our Gala Evening to be held at Azuridge Estate Hotel in Priddis, Alberta on August 9th, followed with the two-day golf competition at Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club on August 10th and 11th. A reception and awards presentation will follow the final round of golf at the Clubhouse. Also new this year is the reduced commute time for many players via the recently opened SW Calgary Ring Road with quick access to Highway 22X from anywhere in-and-around the city.

The first day of the golf competition will be tee times on the Hawk Course, and the second day will be a shotgun on the Raven Course. Power carts and tee gifts are included for all players. Food and beverage stations will be intertwined throughout your golfing experience providing convenient access to refreshments, along with pre-round breakfast and post-round receptions.

The tournament encourages both male and female participants, competitive and non-competitive golfers alike. Teams compete for the Bill Beattie Memorial Award using net Stableford points with the best three scores of each foursome counted per hole. The Frank Lindsay Award is presented to the golfer scoring the most individual points over the two-day competition. Walking scorers are provided for each team to assist with accurate tracking of scores.

Similar to last year, teams and individual players will have the added benefit of receiving a tax receipt for a portion of their team entry fee. This makes it even more advantageous to participate individually or as a team and support the fundamental goal of the tournament in crucial fundraising and increasing awareness for the Prostate Cancer Centre of Calgary.
The Priddis Greens Charity Classic is one of the most important fundraising endeavors for the Prostate Cancer Centre of Calgary, raising well over $7 million to date to support prostate cancer awareness, early detection, education, research and rapid access to pre and post-operative treatment. Because we rely on donors and sponsors for our revenue, we would not be able to provide our current services without this tournament. The level of treatment and care that we provide to over 10,000 patient visits a year through our six Rapid Access Clinics for men suspected or diagnosed with prostate cancer are the best in this country.

Early detection is vital to surviving prostate cancer. Calgary’s Prostate Cancer Centre has the only two mobile PSA testing vehicles in Canada - the ManVan™. The ManVan™ program has tested over 52,000 men, one vehicle services Calgary and the other, rural communities in Southern Alberta. We always bring the ManVan™ to the Priddis Greens Charity Classic for PSA testing on-site when restrictions permit. This serves as a thank you to all the Priddis Greens supporters.

The Prostate Cancer Centre’s success and growth would not have been possible without help from the many volunteers and organizers, the players, the generous sponsors and the Priddis Greens membership. We are committed to using your donations to fund the best prostate cancer research, diagnosis, and treatment options and start to finish care to improve the lives of patients and their families. Thank you for your encouragement and support.

We are confident that every day, every man in Southern Alberta who visits us will receive the best care and treatment available.

“There is no question – without the longstanding support of the Priddis Greens Charity Classic there would be no Prostate Cancer Centre today and families would not benefit from our services” states Dr. Donnelly. “Your support yesterday and today is shaping the future of the men in Southern Alberta.”

2022 champions

In true Priddis Greens spirit, the 24th annual event held in 2022 raised $320,000 in support of the Prostate Cancer Centre and crowning Petrin Mechanical as the champion group. Thank you to all participants for their support and generosity making this years event a huge success.
