WHAT IS THOR GUARD CLUB POLICY?

  1. One (1) 15 second blast is RED ALERT and all players must seek shelter immediately in the on-course washrooms, on-course rain shelters, in the on-course concessions or the Clubhouse. Courses are closed until the ALL CLEAR sounds. All play on the practice facilities and the course stops until the ALL CLEAR sounds.
  2. Three (3) 5 second blasts is ALL CLEAR. All players may return to the golf course to their original position when the RED ALERT sounded or to the practice facilities.
  3. Thorguard can differentiate between cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-ground lightning. Cloud-to-cloud lightning poses no danger and Thorguard will not sound. Cloud-to-ground lightning poses a danger and Thorguard will sound.
  4. Harmless looking clouds, or clouds in the distance may pose a danger of a “bolt out-of-the-blue”. Thorguard can predict this situation and will sound.
  5. Failure to comply with this policy will result in a suspension, which shall be:
    1. First Offence – A two-week suspension of golfing privileges.
    2. Second Offence – A three-week suspension of golfing privileges.
    3. Third Offence – Suspension indefinitely of golfing privileges, until an appearance before the Board of Directors. The Board has the discretion to extend the suspension or invoke another penalty.
As per Policy #48 by order of the Board of Directors.
